Stepping Back in Time
I just ordered a Commodore 64. I’ve been thinking about it for a very long time. There’s a bit of a back-story behind how the Commodore 64 computer has re-appeared in the world after 40 years - I won’t bore you with it.
The biggest question on most people’s mind will probably be “why?”.
I guess a part of it is me buying something “for me” for a change. Something fun. Something that isn’t “for” something. Something that isn’t “for” anybody else. Something harmless to tinker with that will keep me out of trouble.
I’m not sure what I’ll use it for either. Perhaps as a word processor? Perhaps to hack into the file that governs everything in the universe? (you have to read “Off to be the Wizard” to get that joke - it’s a fun read).
Perhaps - as mentioned - I don’t need a use for it.
Of course while tinkering with the Commodore 64, I’ll really be waiting for the same team to pull their finger out and re-create the Commodore Amiga.
I’ll shut up now, climb back under my stone, and deliberately NOT look at the flip-phone that Commodore have also developed, even if I do love the idea of it.
