Advice from a Single Girl
This blog is probably the closest to my own in many ways - filled with random thoughts about daily life. I became friends with the author before the huge blogging boom of the mid 2000s, and have kept in touch ever since. Wonderfully written, often candid, and always interesting.

While exploring LiveJournal many years ago I crossed paths with one of the most wonderful story tellers I've ever found - and we became fast friends. I've never known anybody with such a gift, or such an interesting life.

A chance discovery while scrolling Substack some time ago (perhaps the algorithmic timeline does work, sometimes). An ex TV anchor and journalist, making her way in the world after her life was turned upside down. Engaging, wonderfully written, and always thoughtful.
Courtney Thorne Smith
I almost fell off my chair when I discovered that "Alison" from "Melrose Place" had a blog - and then discovered how good it was. Seriously - go read.
Eight Years of Dating
A friend from my years at Wordpress - now at Substack. She famously wrote about a date she went on, then the date discovered her blog. A wonderful writer, and disarmingly open about her adventures.
Jessica Harper
Another chance discovery while scrolling late at night - a quite wonderful author, with several books published on Amazon. Her stories make me laugh, and I find myself wondering how many of her characters are based on real people.
Humans of New York
Not a blog, but wonderful. I'm sure you know what HONY is. Go look. Just don't blame me for losing an hour reading about real people's stories.
